When Danish optometrist Poul-Jorn Lindberg needed spectacles in the 1980’s, he described the product as ‘a scaffold – heavy, stiff and uncomfortable.’ Knowing there had to be a better way, he went into frame design and began to realize a new thought process: “You should see the face, not the frame.” Lindberg’s epiphany led him to seek out titanium for weight and comfort and a design that eliminated all superfluous details such as screws, rivets and welds.
